This is a mental map created by a 6th grader in Austin, Texas. This map represents the child's interpretation of the area around his/her school and home. It is easy to see the important things in this child's life; elementary school, home, friend's houses, and sidewalks. This child's cognitive map is localized to the three streets that intersect with the school.
